Mad Zymurgists Club Membership

Being a supporting member of the Mad Zymurgists homebrew club has its benefits.  Our club is a source of support for new and experienced brewers alike and we have a wealth of interesting and informative topics at each of our monthly meetings. Our club is also very involved in the community and craft beer scene in Northern California.

What do we do at club meetings?

Here are just a few of the many things we do at club meetings. To learn more about other activities and events we participate in check out our About page:

  • A “beer social” before every meeting. Members and guests share their beers and can even get feedback from qualified BJCP judges if they wish.
  • Gadgets — our members have some of the most interesting and clever beer gadgets around to share.
  • Presentations from members, professional brewers, and industry experts.
  • Beer style discussions and tastings — exploring the hundreds of beers styles in the world.
  • Defect evaluation trainings. Helping members identify issues with their beers and how to correct them.
  • Planning for events like: The National Homebrewers Convention, the Northern California Homebrewers Festival, Oaktoberfest, the Bay Area Multi-Club picnic and many more…
  • Help and planning for competitions: how to select your best beer, help with brewing questions, and planning for future competitions.
  • Judging and beer appreciation training. The Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) and Cicerone.
  • Bus tours to local breweries and events
  • And just plain good fun!
